Brookside Blast 10/7/22

This has been a beautiful first week of October and the sunset above was captured Sunday evening 10/2 from the playground. Please note, there is NO SCHOOL this Friday 10/7 (teacher professional development day) or Monday 10/10 (Indigenous People's day). While you have your calendars out, please also note that our parent conferences are scheduled for the week of 11/14-11/18. We will be sharing the information on how to book these conferences in the next couple of weeks or so.

Brookside students will once again be participating in the River of Light Lantern Parade. All students grades PK-4 will be creating lanterns in art classes during the month of November and are invited and encouraged to attend the parade on Saturday, December 3rd. The theme this year is MARVELOUS MAGIC and we couldn't agree more! What a treat!

As a reminder, our 3rd and 4th grade open house is tonight, 10/6 from 5:30-6:30pm.

Grades 1 & 2 will be on Tuesday, 10/11 and grades PK and K will be on Thursday, 10/13. All open houses are 5:30-6:30pm and include both adult caregivers and students. We look forward to seeing you then!

Pick Up Patrol

Please remember to update your child's plans in Pick Up Patrol if students will be absent or dismissed early. Additionally, please be SPECIFIC about the location for bus drop-off (i.e. "home" or "the corner" is not particularly helpful. Please write an address) Thank you for your cooperation with this, as it helps exponentially.

Outside Learning and Play

Our students enjoy playing and learning outside every day. Please be sure to send clothing to keep your child warm and dry, including boots and hoods on rainy days. These unpredictable fall days often require multiple layers!

Thank you for your continued partnership!

Sarah & Chris
